Is there a 12 step program for the internet?

How the fuck did I end up with a Facebook account? Jesus. I am such a sucker for peer pressure. I think this means I have to officially delete my Friendster account. 3 social networking accounts is just too much. I've got to stop the insanity.

Here's my latest attempt at Operation Stop Feeling Like Crap:

I'm getting my eyes checked this afternoon, I think maybe my poor eyesight is contributing to my dizziness, etc.

I've started taking dramamine. Who knew it would totally work?

I'm back on vitamins.

I stopped the hippy treatment (aloe vera juice, digestive enzymes, licorice extract).

I drink tea at night.

I've also started taking this stuff called Quietude. Weird, I know, but shit, it makes me sleep.

So that's the program. At least I'll get some badly needed glasses out of the deal. Seeing as my last new pair came when I moved to Boston in 1999. I suck at taking care of myself.

Violet is on the verge of walking I think, and I'm terrified of it. She is a maniac as it is, I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like when she's upwardly mobile. She can crawl up stairs and yesterday she climbed onto our bed. Um hello? When on earth do you learn these things?

I haven't done any christmas shopping at all. Not that I can afford to, but it's the thought that counts right? Maybe I'll just make banana bread for everyone this year. Instead of shopping, I've been sitting around wishing I had the money for one of these jams to carry V around in. SIgh.

So, the allergist didn't help.

No scratch test for me, he said judging from my symptoms he doesn't think it's food allergies, so a scratch test would do me no good. Bah. So, back to the Primary care Doc and he took some more blood from me on Wednesday. Now I'm waiting to hear back about that and I have an OB appt. on Tuesday to 'check the house' so to speak. I'm totally convinced that I have a giant cyst on my ovaries now. Thanks Dr. Google.

If only I could kick this dizziness I would be okay to suffer through the rest of this suckfest. Being dizzy all the time is the pits. Violet has been so awesome through all this. I think she knows when I feel bad so she's extra good. God I love that baby.


V's awesome Godmother sent her this great skirt (amongst other things) for her birthday. Never in a million years did I dream that I could dress my daughter up like my own personal Cyndi Lauper. It rules. In this picture to the right, she is also modeling an awesome T-shirt made by my friend Betsey, who just happens to have an Etsy shop. I swear, I love having so many talented people in my life. Although the picture doesn't really show it, next to the bird it says 'Thrasher'.

She also has this rad shirt from my friend Julie, who
not only makes rad shirts out of old shirts, but she will make any shirt you desire. How can you beat that?

Anyway, I saw this one and I just had to have it. I mean what other band from my childhood is perfectly suitable for my kid to listen to? Exactly.








I'm off to finish making mashed potatoes. I love that I've been pretty much existing on mashed potatoes and pizza (with gluten-free dough) and I've lost 13 pounds. Best diet ever.
